Jenny Edwards & Greg Whitby!

Couple #6 Is Jenny Edwards & Greg Whitby!

A little bit about each of them, in their own words!

Jenny Edwards, 25
Born and raised in Queenstown all my life. I am currently a hairdresser on Kent Island and have been for the last eight years, I love my job!

Greg Whitby, 25
Born and raised in Queen Anne all his life. He has been working at a accounting firm in Centreville for the last 9 years and is currently studying to become a CPA! In his sparetime he is a volunteer EMT!

Jenny & Greg started dating April 1, 2010, at 24 years old. They've been going strong since day 1! They don't have kids yet, but plan on it one day!

Their Love Story!

Me and Greg have actually known each practically all our lives. Our journey started back in Kindergarden when we started school together. Through the years we have been in the same class a lot, especially elementary school. We graduated together from Queen Annes County High School class of 2003. Never close in school, our journey into life began in different directions. We had became friends on Facebook but never talked. Last January, after a bridal show we ran into each other in Easton, first time in 7 years since we had graduated. What a coincidence right? A week later was my grandmothers birthday, we had gone to dinner and him and his family were sitting directly behind me. We officially started chatting on Valentines Day, but our anniversary is April Fools day!! So this year, he is sharing a seat next to me for my grandmothers birthday and we are spending our first valentines day together as a couple! Funny how things work out but id say waiting 20 years for him was definitely worth the wait!

What Makes you Unique?

The fact that we have been in front of each other our whole life and never in a million years thought we would end up together! We definitely couldn’t imagine our life without each other in it now.

Why Do YOU deserve to win?

We deserve to win because we have never had professional local pictures done and id love for our picture to be hanging on our loved ones wall. We have been told over and over again we make a very cute couple and cant wait to share our love for each other with everyone! I think it would be nice to have an updated picture, professionally done, to compare to our 4th grade class picture. By putting the two pictures side by side we would be able to remember the past, see the present, and look forward to our future!!!!

Chelsea Wright & Zach Powell

Couple #5 Is Chelsea Wright & Zach Powell!

A little bit about each of them, in their own words!

Chelsea & Zach started dating December 17, 2005 when she was 16 and he was 17! They've never had any breakups, "because they're madly in love, duh! :)"

"No babies, whoo hoo! :)"

Their Love Story!

“The Moment his eyes met mine”
One thing to remember - there are no rules on life or in love. It is important to enjoy the moment and make life (love) as awesome as it can be!
So, the moment his eyes met mine, wasn’t exactly fireworks. We we’re in the halls of North Caroline High, talking to our friends before the first class began. I can’t exactly recall what was said by me (Chelsea). All I remember is Zach turning to me and the first thing he EVER says to me was, “Damn, what’s your number?”. Um, not exactly my fairytail! Yeah, I was not impressed. But, he did make me laugh and still manages to do that to this day.
Fastforward… The first time me and Zach hung out. I still didn’t have my drivers license and Zach had a truck. An older boy with his license AND a ford pickup? I was hooked! Some may disagree, but I am a Ford girl, so you can imagine how excited I was! Of course, I told him to pick me up at my house. It was him and one of his guy friends, Josh. We were just going out riding. Well, my daddy asks “Who is this boy picking you up?”. I told him not to worry, he was just a friend and he drove a Ford so it was ok. (My father is clearly a Ford man).
When I first met Zach I did not intend on making him my boyfriend. He was just a sweet guy, who I considered a friend. Zach would not give up on me though. He was so sure I was going to be his girlfriend. He kept trying, asking me on dates or just walking me to class in school. So, I finally told him I would go on a date with him!
Our first date, we went to the movies and dinner in Dover, Delaware. I can’t remember the movie but Applebee’s was where we went to eat. To this day Applebee’s is one of our favorite places! It was a great time and I was starting to warm up to this guy. So, I decided right up front if he was going to like me, he would have to know my flaws! (I didn’t waste any time showing him these flaws either) If anyone knows me personally, they know I have really stinky farts (God, this is SO unlady-like, but its part of the story right?). Lets just say, Zach found out how stinky things could get with me around! Oh and I was not shy about it! But, he is still with me. They can’t be that bad right? ;)
After Zach got over the shock of me being so, “crazy”... Maybe that’s the word for me? He decided he could deal with certain things and still wanted me to be his girlfriend. He eventually asked me out. The date was December 17th, 2005. I said yes! But, later that night I changed my mind. I wasn’t ready for us to be “official”. So I broke it off with him. This is where things get complicated. But, this is me telling the story so im telling my side! That night, Zach called me just to talk and I actually asked him back out! I know, confusing girl right? He should have ran while he had the chance. But, he willingly said yes. So technically, we are together cause I asked him out! But, Zach would tell you it was the next day when I asked him out, December 18th, 2005. But since I always win, our anniversary is the 17th!
Next thing, “The first kiss”. I worked in the office at my grandparents shop after school everyday. Sometimes Zach would come visit me there. I walked outside to tell Zach goodbye. I was actually standing on one of those stumps where you park your car in front of. I don’t know what their called. Anyway, im not sure who leaned in first, but there it was, our first kiss. Simple, yet sweet!
Our first, “I love you’s”. We were driving to my dad’s house in greensboro. My friend Sara was with us, so I was sitting in the middle and Zach was driving. I don’t really know what came over me, but I just wispered “I love you”. Zach smiled at me with a kind of shocked but happy look on his face and replied, “I love you too”! We have said “I love you” every single day since. More then once a day, usually.
So every moment his eyes meet mine there are (as I would describe it) “fireworks”. Our story just goes to show, love is not always at first sight. And it doesn’t need to be! It’s not realistic to love someone the first time you look at them. Its after time, and getting to know one another when love just happens. Somewhere in between that first date to the first kiss, I believe I fell head over heals. And for 5 years now, I fall more in love and I appreciate Zach more with every kiss, or every “I love you”. They mean so much more now that I’ve been with him for all this time. Its kind of cheesy, but I feel like I’ve found “the one”. All I know is I have feelings for Zach that I’ve never felt in any other relationship or felt about any other person. He is my best friend.
I am a firm believer that a partner / boyfriend / fiance / husband / true love or whatever you want to call him, is your best friend with benefits! Seriously, if we can make each other smile and laugh like a best friend, but have intimate moments of passion and fire…we have it all :)

What Makes you Unique?

Unique, is the right word for me and Zachary. There are not many people who can say they have stayed together, HAPPY, with their high school sweetheart for years. No, Zach was not my first love. Nor, was I his. But that makes us who we are today, and we have learned from past relationships how NOT to treat each
other.

*One very unique / weird fact – After me and Zach met in high school, we found out his father and my grandmother worked together at edgehill/rite aid for YEARS! Ever since me and Zach were little kids. Probably the ages of 4 and 5! As many times that I would go to my mommoms work or Zach would go help his daddy while he worked, we never met! I believe God has a plan for us all and he only knows what might have happened if we met at such a young age.
*I’d have to say, me and Zach are uniquie in the fact that we only get to spend time together on weekends. Zach works night shift and I work days. So Monday – Thursday we don’t get to see each other or even hear each others voice. Thank god for text messaging!

There are so many ways our relationship is unique, everyone has a story that is unique in its own.

Why Do YOU deserve to win?

I believe our story deserves a reward :) It is unique. We’re a very down to earth couple and easy to get along with. People will relate to us! Or atleast, appreciate our crazy love story.

Rachel Barry & David Barry

Couple #4 Is Rachel & David Barry!

A little bit about each of them, in their own words!

Rachel Barry, 23
I would describe myself as very passionate about what I believe. I am determined, loyal, and hilarious, see below. I love my family and friends with a fierce passion
.

David Barry, 23
David is the definition of fun-loving. He is laid back, funny, and compassionate. He is the best husband because he loves me in spite of my crazy.

David & Rachel Started dating "What feels like decades ago now... January 2004, at the 'mature' age of 16!" Rachel answers a few questions:

Any breaks? Hell Yes, we were hormonal teenagers.
If so, when? April 2004 until April 2005 then for a week in June 2006. I had the idea first, then he wanted to get even, the second time was his idea. He soon  realized he couldn’t live without me and so we lived happily ever after!
Why? See the above hormonal teenagers comment.

They have 2 four legged children: Dozer is a 3.5 year old Beagle Mix, and Del is a 6 month old Beagle. Rachel says:
"They are my children in every sense of the word! They have the best little personalities and fit our family perfectly. They are a constant source of entertainment and unconditional love."

Their Love Story!

We are high school sweet hearts and dealt with all the drama that comes along with that. When he left for boot camp and the possibility of endless separation lurking we decided to jump in head first and tie the knot. So many tried to talk us into waiting, but we thought they were the crazy ones. We were in love!  We got married April 7th, 2007.
Of course, we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into.  But I’m so happy and proud to say that we are celebrating our 4 year wedding anniversary this year.
In these four years, we have moved 1200 miles away from the Eastern Shore and the only life we ever knew. We found ourselves were staring off into the great unknown but learned quickly to rely on each other because that’s all we had.  With all the anxiety and unknown that come with the military life, including long deployments.  Hardest of all, we've also dealt with the loss of a much wanted pregnancy. All these things challenged our marriage in many different ways.
But we’ve found that these hardships have given us a bond that we share only with each other.  We have cried and yelled a lot.  But even more than that, we have laughed and loved.  I wouldn’t want to be on this journey with anyone else.

What Makes you Unique?

What makes us unique is that the numbers arent on our side but we’re making it work anyway. We’re part of the 1% of the Americans that enlisted in the military (and I say we ‘cause it’s a family thing!). Divorce rates are higher for military couples than civilian, and only 1 out of  3 teenage marriages are successful. We’ve been through everything the military has to throw at us and a few other things that life has tossed in too. And yet not only are we surviving, we are thriving! We have our ups and downs but most of the time we’re loving life and committed to growing old together.

Why Do YOU deserve to win?

We haven’t had professional pictures done, except crappy walmart ones, since our wedding and would love the chance to work with Amanda! I am so excited to see her business growing and her expanding her expertise. I would love to have a beautiful piece of your work!

Allison Rowe & Kyle Bringman

Couple #3 Is Allison Rowe&Kyle Bringman!

A little bit about each of them, in their own words!

Allison Rowe- 20
I will be graduating from Wesley College this December with a degree in Elementary Education. I cannot wait to close that chapter of my life and begin a new one!

Kyle Bringman- 22
His occupation is in law enforcement and he loves what he does!

Kyle & Allison started dating September 24, 2004 and broke up for a few hours one month into their relationship. Allison has NO idea what she was thinking, but was "nervous because all of the puzzle pieces were fitting together so well."

From Allison: "I balled my eyes out as I told him I needed a break. After my mom asked me if I was crazy and if I realized if I knew what I was “throwing away” I called him back and 'changed my mind'."

They have two 'four legged children', but will have a few 'two legged children' in the someday!

Their Love Story!

The first time we layed eyes on each other was when I was 5 and Kyle was 7. His sister and I took dance class together. Then, the summer before I entered high school Kyle and I saw each other at the Deleware State Fair- this is the first memory we can truly say we remember about each other. I told my girl friends that I thought he was cute and he told his guy friends that he thought I was…. Well that might not be appropriate to say...! But you can only imagine what a 16 year old male would say! Looking back I think that God had a plan for us. Again, his sister and I made another connection through North Caroline High School volleyball. For the first few weeks of the season he would come with his mom to the games to watch me. After a text message that he feared sending, asking his cousin (also a good friend of mine!) for my cell phone number, things blossomed from there. We went on our first ‘date’ on September 24, 2004. Between then and now we have been through the good, and the ugly. We have been at each others sides as I learned how to drive, as we graduated from high school, and he from college. We stood the test of time while he was in the Marlyland State Police Academy for six months, and my transition from living at home to living at Wesley College in Dover, DE. We have both lost two big hearted, and greatly loved grandfathers.  The most recent death was my Grandpa Leroy. We lost him the day after our six year anniversary and we were both sitting at his bed side. At moments like those we pull our emotional strengths together so we can get through. Kyle dropped down on one knee and asked me to marry him in Dayton Beach, Florida in 2008 and of course I said “yes!”. We are happily engaged and planning a 2012 wedding. Both of us are so excited to see what our future together brings. We have huge plans that we can NOT wait to see become a reality.

What Makes you Unique?

We are a unique couple because we know how to find the strength within one another to get through the tough times. We know that the only way to pull through inopportune situations is by relying on one another. We are eachothers ‘foundations’ and shoulder to lean on.

Why Do YOU deserve to win?

We deserve to win because we work hard at our relationship. There is not one day that we take for granted. We know that today is a blessing and who knows what tomorrow will bring. We have a promise with eachother; we will never go to bed angry. We believe, especially with his occupation, that anything could happen at anytime so we try our hardest to never end a day with tarnished emotions.

Zelie Mae Collison&David Kneller

Couple #2 Is Zelie Mae Collison & David Kneller!

A little bit about each of them, in their own words!

Zelie Mae Collison, 20
I go to Frostburg State University, my major is early childhood education and I can NOT wait until I get to be a teacher!  I have two dogs, one of which is mine and David’s.  I live in Greensboro with my family on breaks but mostly in Frostburg.  I have worked on a farm my whole life and love it and plan to be a kindergarten or pre-k teacher and inheriate our family’s replacement heifer establishment.

David Kneller, 20
David is a Master Chef who has his education in resuraunt and hotel management.  He lives with me in Frostburg and works at the Rocky Gap Hotel and Resort as a Chef.  He plans to soon open his own resturaunt and go back to school.  He loves baseball and his cars.  He also loves and is very close with his family and mine.  He is so loving, patient, funny, sweet, spontanious, and just everything perfect.

David & Zelie started dating August 25, 2010 at 20 years young! Since dating they haven't broken up! They have one "child," their rescued Border Collie/Jack Russel Mix, Panini!

Their Love Story!

As told by Zelie:
We have known each other since kindergarten because we went to the same elementary school of course.  We were only playground friends or aquaintences up until highschool, where the wonderful sport of tennis brought us together.  I remember when he first caught my eye.  We were at a tennis conference in Cambridge.  He made me laugh, ALL the time.  I liked him at first, but it faded.  I was too young and stupid and into “bad boys” to pay him any mind as a boyfriend.  But we still became best friends.  I could really be myself with him and I didn’t have to hide anything.  We spent like everyday together.  When I came to college we still were best friends he came to visit me and we never lost touch.  I knew that he loved me.  He told me all the time.  He bought me things and took me places, paid for me…pure chivalry.  Then I got through the bad boy phase and realized that I liked him, like really liked him.  Slowly but surely, six years to be exact.  But last summer, it just clicked.  A lightbulb went off in my head.  He really made me happy and he really cared about me.  And what made it even better and how I knew that it was real was the simple fact that he is my best friend an he knows my deepest darkest secrets and still loves me unconditionally.  I remember the night when I first let him hold me.  We were watching a movie and it had just gotten over and he was about to leave.  He had tried to hold me a thousand times before but this time, I let him.  And with little gestures here and there, we progressed.  Until we got to our first kiss.  It was at one of his friend’s  houses.  He was having a little party.  David and I decided we were gonna go get in the hottub.  And I just did it.  I just kissed him.  I couldn’t help myself.  But it was the best feeling in the entire world.  First kisses always are, and so are all of our kisses in there own way.  We didn’t start dating right away, but we pretty much were without the title.  I don’t know what I was so afriad of.  He makes me so happy.  Everyday.  And I really am so glad, that for whatever reason, he chose me, and that I grew up and realized that he really is so perfect.

As told by David:
I don’t know where to start really. Up until high school I never really knew a lot about Zelie, I mean we were friends but, I didn’t know much about her. Our freshman year of high school I broke my wrist so I couldn’t play baseball as I planned. Sports were always a big part of my life so, I played tennis the one sport I could with just one arm. That year on the way to districts I sat with Zelie and we talked the whole way I couldn’t get enough of her voice. I felt as if I wanted to know everything I could possibly could about her. That day when I got home from tennis I went and told my mom all about her. At the end of my our conversation I told her, im gonna marry that girl, I just had a gut instinct. In the following years, I spent almost everyday with her I not only fell in love with her, I fell in love with her whole family, the feeling however was not mutual, I was just her best friend. When college came along she went to Frostburg and I went to AACC. Though we were hours away I was still determined to spend as much time with her as possible. Finally, this past summer I had a break through with her. We decided to go to a friend of mine’s party. I don’t know what I did differently but we decided to get in the hot tub, and she kissed me. I was shocked and extatic at the same time. After that we didn’t date right away but, it all came in good time. I had the best summer of my life and everyday with her gets better and better.
My favorite motto to define my waiting for her is, “If she is amazing, she wont be easy, If shes easy, she wont be amazing, If shes worth it you wont give up, If you give up your not worthy”.

What Makes you Unique?
We have such a special story.  It really is one of a kind.  A relationship that took six years to come about and that is now so perfect, so involved, so everything that it could possibly be and more.

Why Do YOU deserve to win?

We are best friends and we have the perfect relationship.  We may seem a little disfunctional at times, but that is only to people who don’t know us.  We are oh so in love and oh so cute. =)

Ashley Shorter & John Anderson!

Couple #1 Is Ashley Shorter & John Anderson!

A little bit about each of them, in their own words!

Ashley Shorter, 20
I am a junior at Salisbury University majoring in Respiratory Therapy. My dream job is to work in the neonatal intensive care unit in a hospital, helping those who are so helpless (newborn babies) to do one of the easiest yet most necessary acts… breathing. I have the best family and friends any one could ask for and they mean the world to me!

John Anderson, 21
John’s dream job is to be a police officer. He is currently training to take his physical and written exams that will take him one step closer to entering the police academy. He came from a Navy and Marine family and since his asthma got in the way of continuing the family tradition he decided that becoming a police officer and serving the public was the next best thing.

A little bit about the couple, in their own words!

We started dating on December 1, 2004, I was 14 and John was 15; that means we have been together for over 6 years! Unfortunately, we’ve had a break, but it only lasted less than 3 weeks. It happened in November of 2008 and was a really rough time. We were so young when we started dating and had been together for so long, but since we were getting very serious, we wanted to make sure this is what we both really wanted. Needless to say, on December 2, 2008 John called me and asked if we could get back together… of course I said yes! Everyone says it, but this break has honestly made our relationship so much stronger!! I can’t imagine my life without him!!

No children yet, but we definitely want them after we get married and are settled down. Two to be exact, one boy and one girl.

Our Love Story:
We met at band camp in the summer of 2004, I was about to start my freshman year of high school and John was beginning his sophomore year. I had joined the color guard and John was in the percussion section of the marching band. Whenever people ask how we met we say “band camp” and always get a response with the famous quote from American Pie, “This one time at band camp!”  I still laugh when I hear it! During band camp and throughout the whole band season we would always pick on each other, all in good fun of course, but we started to develop feelings for one another. At the time I had a boyfriend that I thought I liked, but could be easily swayed with some persuasion from John. We rode the same bus since we only live about 3 blocks away from each other; John sat in the front and I sat towards the middle. One day I noticed that he kept looking back at me, which I thought was somewhat strange, but didn’t really pay any attention to it. He started telling me to come and sit with him, but I never did. This went on for about a week or so and one day he finally came back and sat in the seat in front of me and insisted that I break up with my boyfriend and go out with him instead. I always asked why and said no, but after a few days of his excessive and convincing persuasion I gave it some thought. The next day, my friend Meaghann helped me to break up with my old boyfriend and John and I started dating. From that point on, we were inseparable. I remember the first time we kissed we were walking a lady from our church’s dog and we kept going back and forth saying the other wouldn’t kiss us; well John proved me wrong, he leaned in and planted one right on my lips!
Years later it was November 25, 2010 (Thanksgiving Day) and I was at John’s house for breakfast as we usually do. I was sitting on his lap in the kitchen when he said he had to do something, so he got up and left the room. When he came back I sat on his lap again and noticed him fidgeting in his pocket. I asked what he was doing and he said “Nothing,” I didn’t think anything of it. All of the sudden he pulled out a white box that lit up when he opened it (which is still something that I find awesome!) with a GORGEOUS ring inside and asked if I would marry him. I looked at the ring and him in disbelief and excitedly said, “What is that!?” We both laughed a little and after what felt like a whole minute, at least to him, he said, “Well?” and of course I said YES!!! We hugged and kissed and he slipped the ring on my finger. Sometimes I still can’t believe that I am going to marry my best friend! He told me about the ring he gave me and how he had it made from two family rings, one from his great grandmother and the other from his great grandfather’s great, great aunt, which only makes it more special!

What makes us unique and sets us apart from the rest:
John and I are unique because we truly complement each other. He is very spontaneous and a lot of the time does not think of the consequences of his actions, this is where I come in. I’m more of the responsible and sensible one in the relationship. Whenever John comes up with a bright idea, he will tell me about it and realize soon after our conversation that it might not be the best idea. We bring out the best in each other, while I ground him and help him to make better decisions, he brings out my spontaneous and carefree side.

 We Deserve to WIN!!
We deserve to win because we are one cute couple!! Not only have we grown as people together, but we’ve been there for each other through thick and thin, from deaths of loved ones to celebrating the birth of a new little one in the family. Every hardship we’ve endured has only made our relationship a thousand times stronger, we truly are best friends!
